This site is run for the benefit of members of the Fareham Allotments and Gardens Association and to provide information to those who are interested in becoming members. The aim of the Association is to provide facilities for residents of the borough of Fareham to cultivate allotments and to provide facilities for gardeners in the Fareham area.
About Us
Fareham Allotment and Gardens Association is an Association of plot holders across four allotments sites within the Fareham borough.
It is run by a management committee with each post elected bi-annually at the Annual General Meeting.
Historically, allotment plots are measured in ‘Rods’.
A Rod is approximately 25.3 square metres. Across our sites we have plots that are either 2.5 or 5 Rods.
Plot rents are due 1st October each year.
Rental for 2024/25 is £7.50 per Rod, plus £2 membership.
Applications for a plot can only be accepted from residents of Fareham Borough
When first taking on a plot, in addition to any plot fees that will be applicable, there is a £50 Plot Deposit and key deposit payable; the cost of which varies between sites.
If and when you decide to give up the plot the key deposit is refunded on return of the key as is the plot deposit provided, in the opinion of the Site Manager, the plot is being vacated in a reasonable state and can easily be re-let.
Management Committee
The committee manages the day-to-day operation of the allotments with each site having at least one volunteer site manager. The committee meet every two months and consists of:
